Rumpl collaborated with artist Nicole Mclaughlin on two products that highlight sustainability and versatility - the art of doing more with less. Nicole McLaughlin is a multidisciplinary designer known for her exploration of greater possibilities for sustainability and transforming discarded miscellanea into new objects. Nicole shows how a circular approach to design and manufacturing can help us reframe waste as an opportunity. Due to her imaginative, and often unexpected utility.
As climbing is one of Nicole’s favorite hobbies, we came together to introduce the Pack Mat which is a crossbody tote with seamless transitions from a carrying bag to a waterproof ground mat for protection from the elements. tieing in Nicole’s signature colorway and graphic, the Travel Blanket adds the perfect comfort factor to the pack mat when out with friends. This a portable version of our all-weather puffy blankets with advanced synthetic down Nanoloft® technology.
The NanoLoft® Travel Blanket in Mist Blue was designed by Nicole to resemble a ripple disturbing calm crystalline waters. Pairing perfectly with The Pack Mat, this set is great for any adventure outside.
Even better, The NanoLoft® insulation technology mimics Down to give customers a similar comfort in situations where you can't carry a larger blanket. To top it all off, we applied a DWR finish for stain and water resistance.
The Pack Mat was fully customized to combine the unique blend of Rumpl's Everywhere Mat with additional trims to fold the mat into a tote that doubles as a shopping bag and climbing equipment tote. Adjustable straps give you the option to wear it as a cross-body tote or as a shoulder bag while snaps and carabiners have been added to help retain the tote shape along with an adjustable buckle so the bag stays closed when folded. Climbing has been a huge part of Nicole's life and having the ability for the Pack Mat to fold up into a tote was essential. Although not tested as a climbing bag, the bag itself can hold everyday climbers' gear to the crag before the consumer unfolds it.
